BOULDER - Rally Software Development Corp. will keep its software development tools business in Boulder after signing a lease for 61,145 square feet of space at 4001 Discovery Drive.

The new location will double Rally's current space at 3333 Walnut St. It plans to move in mid-October.
"We needed the space to grow," said Tim Miller, Rally's chief executive officer. "It was the only office building in Boulder that would hold us and provide adequate access to public transportation."  Rally employs about 140 people, with plans to hire about 25 more each quarter in the near future, Miller said. "The deal fits our growth plan for the next two years," he said.

Rally had been negotiating on space outside of Boulder, when the space at 4001 Discovery Drive came on the market, Miller said. The University of Colorado owns the building, which sits on the northwest corner of the Foothills Highway and Colorado Avenue.

Paige Coker Heiman with Acquire represented Rally and Alan Polacsek with Grubb & Ellis represented the landlord in the real estate deal.
